And yet there are add-ons, connectors, bridges and other integrations that you may want to use to enhance your shoppers’ experience on your site or help you run your business more efficiently and cost effectively.
Integrating additional functionality is something that most everyone who owns an e-commerce site will want to do at some point. In fact, when you take payments on line, you are already a simple example of integration with AspDotNetStorefront – a payment gateway. Other integrations, like connecting to an order management system, or your CRM, may be a bit more complex.
Getting the added functionality that helps businesses save money and increase profitability doesn’t have to be difficult. It can be very straight forward and still provide a high value service for merchants. Atandra’s T-HUB, one of the most popular integrations, is a perfect example.
This week we spoke to Manish Jha, of Atandra, the makers of T-HUB, about how he worked with AspDotNetStorefront to create a robust two way integration between AspDotNetStorefront, QuickBooks and T-HUB to provide an all-in-one order management system for AspDotNetStorefront users. With this integration the merchant sees no difference in their Admin Console. The connection takes under 30 minutes and does not require any changes to source code.
Atandra utilizes both the AspDotNetStorefront’s WSI (Web Service Interface) and their own background script to integrate with AspDotNetStorefront. By doing the integration in this manor Manish says that “it allows merchants on ASpDotNetStorefront to use T-HUB no matter what version they are on and it gives the merchant or their developer full flexibility in how they use the application”. Merchants simply upload a file via FTP onto their server and that script then acts as the communicator between QuickBooks and the ADNSF platform. It allows the merchant to sync new inventory from QuickBooks into their cart without having to upload in both QuickBooks and then again into their site.
Unlike some integration, which needs to be considered during the initial development of the e-commerce website, T-HUB can be added at any point in the life cycle of the store. It doesn’t have to be implemented prior to going live, and it doesn’t affect the design or the basic functionality of the store.
