This year’s conference got off to a great start on Tuesday, March 20th, at the Ashland Springs Hotel in beautiful Ashland, Oregon. During the afternoon, specialist Masterclasses were held and greatly enjoyed – one on integration for developers, and a four hour session on e-commerce flow for online merchants. These sessions had been separately booked, and we kicked off the “main event” with our Cocktail Welcome Reception where developers, merchants and the AspDotNetStorefront staff were able to connect and network; some meeting face-to-face for the very first time.
On Wednesday morning our keynote speaker, Mr. Dana Greaves, AspDotNetStorefront founder, president and CEO, set the bar high by sharing his passion for the e-commerce industry, the company’s recent endeavors and news of the upcoming version of MSx, 9.3 (coming soon!).
The keynote presentation was followed by a full day of well-received sessions separated into merchant, developer and Sports South tracks. Some of the topics included:
- MultiStore Essentials
- Polishing up Email Templates w/Topics
- DotFeed – Making MultiChannel Possible for All
- Landing Page Optimization
- Integration – The Wonders of Data
Speakers included AspDotNetStorefront’s COO Jo Benson, as well as experts in the field, like: Jeff Vaughan from Vaughan Safety, Jerod Pascua and Bob Stahr from Sunrise Identity, Brad McGinity from Windsor Circle, Sean O’Donnell from Webimax and Patricia Ligon from Allynlee Productions.
Anyone who had a question about their online store or wanted to get real-time advice, help and feedback from the AspDotNetStorefront Developer Team found a real welcome when they dropped by the Developer Clinic. The clinic ran throughout the day Wednesday and into Thursday and what a success it was. No appointment needed!
For those of us who were too busy to stop by, there was no need to worry. The conference ended with our Developer Open Forum where the development team behind AspDotNetStorefront took questions from the audience. This was one of our most popular sessions of the week.
Finally, the day ended with our first ever Consumer Panel. Six online shoppers, real volunteers from our very own town, were onstage to answer any and all questions from attendees. The attendees told us that the insights they gleaned from this session were invaluable and we dream of expanding upon this for next year’s event.
Attendees were also able to make their way through the Exhibitor Hall to learn more about our Development Partners and Solution Providers.
This year our exhibitors included 1stPaymentGateway, 4-Tell, Avalara, Aydus Consulting, Beacon Technologies, Bongo International, Citytech, Listrak, McAfee, Monsoon Commerce, PayPal and Windsor Circle.
Some of Thursday’s session topics included “Developer Tools for Efficiency”, “Moving around a Store”, “Social Media”, “A Flagship Custom Build”, “Guest Shopping and Abandonment” and “UI Tools and Tips”. Speakers included Michael Stricker from Webimax, David Dimmer from Fyin.com, Jason Lavin from Golden Communications, Lori McDonald from Brilliance Business Solutions, Matthew Grattan from Avalara, Linc Anderson from BEM Group and Amy Weissfeld from 4-Tell.
For all of you who made the trip to Ashland for our 2012 E-Commerce Conference, we thank you. We hope you took home some nuggets of knowledge that will further improve your experience with the AspDotNetStorefront shopping cart. We also hope that you were able to learn about some of our valued Development Partners and Solution Providers and establish lasting business relationships with our AspDotNetStorefront team members.
We appreciate all of the sessions and conference feedback that was received. Please know that we plan to take that feedback into consideration as we plan an even better conference for 2013.
Thank you all for coming!
