Whether you’re just getting started developing on the AspDotNetStorefront platform or you’ve created hundreds of sites for clients, you may not be aware of all of the resources we have available to help you succeed. Here’s a compilation of ten educational resources, services and support offerings every serious ASPDNSF developer should be aware of.
You can’t call yourself a serious AspDotNetStorefront developer and not own your own copy of Source Code. Ours is an incredibly flexible, robust e-commerce platform. But to make the biggest changes to the core of the platform, you’ll need source code. Having Source Code expands the range of changes you can make to a site, such as:
- Pricing logic
- Shipping logic
- Third party integrations
- Adding payment gateways
- Industry-specific business rules
- Checkout process
- Tax processing
- Search functionality
Take a look at our most recent Developer blog post, More Jobs and Happier Clients with Source Code, to see examples of how using source code can actually help you grow your business.
Source code is available in Visual Basic or C# and comes with a Visual Studio solution file plus all the files that compile into the DLLs in the bin directory. It is available for versions ML8 and MSx. Get Source Code here.
Your own full copy of the latest MSx license and DotFeed Platform
This should go without saying. If you have been working with this platform for any length of time, you’ll probably agree that there are many occasions where you need a full copy of the software to try things out, create a test environment, or do a special client demo that requires a license that is not limited in any way. Naturally, we recommend you get one which has all the bells and whistles so you know first-hand what is available for your clients. You can get a really great package deal here that comes with over $1200 in add-ons for free.
We created a Developer Blog to enable developers within our platform to expand their knowledge through tips, tutorials & videos. The content is geared 100% toward developers in the AspDotNetStorefront community. Go check it out!
If you’ve discovered a cool way to do something on the platform, we invite you to share your work with your fellow developers by guest posting on the blog. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what you’d like to write about. You could be featured in our next post.
Not only is this a great resource for finding answers and solutions and for offering help and advice, it’s also a place where you can show off your skills and knowledge in front of potential clients. Our forum is frequented by both developers and merchants. Show what you’ve got, build your status, and get new business. Visit the forum.
For each software product we offer, we provide Free Help Desk support, which has a response time of 3 business days or less. If the free services aren’t fast enough for you, we offer a Priority Help Desk package that will guarantee you same-day ticket response.
With Priority Help Desk, our support technicians will give your questions & issues urgent attention to make sure you get the fastest responses possible. In addition to rush response times, our technicians will advise you on questions you encounter while customizing the software.
You can purchase Priority Help Desk by the month or the year here.
In addition to a large library of merchant-oriented webinars, we also have several video tutorials created specifically for developers. Here are some of our most popular:
- Taking XML Packages to the Next Level
- Skinning AspDotNetStorefront: The Developer’s Tools
- Creating Controls in MultiStore
- Testing and Flexibility – Unit Testing and Dependency Injection in AspDotNetStorefront
- Setting Up the MSx Development Environment: Tips and Best Practices
- Fearless Source Code Modifications
If you haven’t upgraded a customized AspDotNetStorefront site to the current version, you may not know which modifications will come along as is and which will need some attention. We offer an assessment of your site that will:
- Determine which of your older code customizations you may no longer need when you upgrade to MSx 9.3.
- Determine which of your current custom functionality you may still want to keep and upgrade.
- Get an assessment of the relative size and complexity for a custom upgrade of your store.
One of our programmers will provide you with a report of findings and recommendations for your upgrade. View a sample Upgrade Assessment to find out if this is something you would find valuable. Go here to order.
Get one-on-one time with our Support Technicians on the phone & over a GoToMeeting to train your employees or answer any questions you might have. You provide the agenda, we provide all of the answers. Training can cover anything as basic as simple product setup, or as complex as tax/shipping configuration options for residents of Zimbabwe. It’s up to you! Read more about Training support.

Developer Consulting Time
For those times when you just can’t figure out the code, we have opened up access to our core development team. The concept here is that when you want to change the code that you’ve bought (whether it be front end code-behind, or deep C# . . . please note we are not VB experts) we can help. The consultation time available for you to purchase will make an expert available to you – they will help write the mod, or point you in the right direction, or just talk with you about different code strategies. They will do code reviews and point out alternative ways to make something work. They will be available via chat, email, phone or GoToMeeting – whatever it takes to help you out. Register for Consulting time here.
